Education
Dr. Hyer graduated from Berry College, in Rome Georgia with a BS in Biology, followed by four years of podiatric medical school at Kent State in Cleveland Ohio. Dr. Hyer then attended The Ohio State University Medical Center for his internship and Foot & Ankle Surgery Residency. Dr. Hyer further set himself apart by completing a 2-year Foot & Ankle Surgery Center Fellowship at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio, one of the top fellowships in the country Lastly, Dr. Hyer completed his Master of Science in Clinical Research & Education at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.

He is an internationally known foot and ankle expert and has authored over 175 scholarly articles in leading foot and ankle journals as well as numerous chapters and several textbooks.

Interests
Dr Hyer and his wife reside in Bozeman with their dog Chloe and have two grown sons who also live in the Bozeman area. When not at work, Dr Hyer enjoys fishing and hiking with his family and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
